ABOUT JACKI
Jacki is one of the founders and Creative Director of Flown Oak, a Melbourne based baby, kids and mum lifestyle brand built on a foundation most brands never have to face.
Before Flown Oak existed, there was a story. One that starts with a cardiac arrest on a labour ward, and a second pregnancy that ended in silence at 32 weeks.
Two of the most terrifying things that can happen to a mother. And Jacki survived them both.
What she found on the other side wasn't a retreat from motherhood. It was a deeper, fiercer commitment to it. Flown Oak was born from that place. Part practical brand, part love letter to every mother navigating the beautiful, brutal reality of this chapter of life.
Today, Flown Oak creates organic cotton clothing and essentials for babies, kids and mums, alongside a Loss Mum Collection designed to gently honour the mothers whose babies were loved deeply but held for too short a time. A portion of every Loss Mum T-shirt sale is donated to Still Aware and Stillbirth Foundation Australia, two organisations working to reduce stillbirth rates and support the families who know that loss intimately.
Jacki is also the face behind a TikTok that resonated with mothers everywhere. A simple video counting how many times she heard the word "mum" in a single day. It reached over 60,000 likes and caught the attention of producers at The Kelly Clarkson Show.
She lives in Melbourne with her husband and children, and she runs Flown Oak with the same ethos she brings to motherhood: show up fully, find the humour, hold space for the hard parts, and never stop moving forward.
THE FLOWN OAK STORY
Flown Oak was created in Melbourne, Australia, from a simple but powerful truth: mothers deserve products that actually work, and children deserve clothing that feels as good as it looks.
What started as a functional range for new mums, breastfeeding blankets, feeding supports, the everyday essentials, has grown into a full lifestyle brand spanning organic baby clothing, kids apparel, and a cause driven collection for loss mums.
At its heart, Flown Oak exists because of what one family went through. And because of all the families who have been through something similar and never felt fully seen.
In Australia, 1 in 80 pregnancies ends in stillbirth. That is more than 2,000 families every year receiving news that no parent should ever have to hear. Flown Oak is one small brand trying to make sure those mothers know they are not invisible.
Through the Loss Mum Collection and annual donations to Still Aware and Stillbirth Foundation Australia, Flown Oak is using business as a vehicle for awareness, support, and community.
KEY TALKING POINTS
On surviving a cardiac arrest during labour:
"I didn't fully process what had happened until much later. In the moment, you're just trying to get through it. But it changed something in me permanently. The way I see motherhood, the way I hold onto ordinary moments."
On experiencing stillbirth:
"There is no roadmap for what comes after. You are a mother with no baby to bring home. The grief is enormous and often invisible to the world around you. Building the Loss Mum Collection was my way of saying I see you. This community sees you."
On the viral TikTok:
"I genuinely just wanted to know the number. I counted every single time one of my kids said 'mum' for an entire day. The response was overwhelming. Mothers from all over the world saying the same thing: finally, someone said it out loud. It made me laugh and cry at the same time, which feels very on brand for motherhood."
On The Kelly Clarkson Show:
"I'm a Melbourne mum who started a small brand in her home. The idea that this story is going to reach an American audience, and that it might help even one mum over there feel less alone, is something I still can't quite believe."
On why she built Flown Oak:
"I wanted to create something that held space for all of it. The joy and the grief. The chaos and the beauty. Motherhood isn't one thing. It's everything, all at once, and I wanted a brand that knew that."
