The 'PAY IT FORWARD' Project - Donate a Breastfeeding Blanket

Love our Breastfeeding Blanket but don't have a growing bump or a new Mum to gift one to?

The 'Pay It Forward' Project is about helping new parents during testing times. With this discounted purchase we will donate the blanket to a maternity ward within Australia for parents of a baby in the NICU so they can share precious skin-to-skin time together.

"Skin-to-skin time between mum and baby is even more important for a premature baby or baby in special care. This contact, also called 'kangaroo mother care', helps to keep your baby's heart rate, breathing rate and temperature steady, much more so than in a humidicrib." - Australian Breastfeeding Association.

The colour donated will depend on stock availability.

Baby Safety — What Every Parent Should Know

At Flown Oak, the safety of your baby is something we take seriously in everything we design. We encourage all parents and caregivers to familiarise themselves with the following safe care principles, which are endorsed by Australian health authorities:

Always keep your baby's airway clear. A baby's airway is small and can be easily obstructed. Never place any fabric, including blankets, wraps, or clothing, over or near a baby's face.

Safe sleeping saves lives. Australian safe sleep guidelines recommend that babies always be placed on their back to sleep, on a firm and flat surface, in a safe sleep environment free from loose bedding, pillows, toys, and soft objects.

Supervision is essential. Babies should never be left unattended on soft surfaces such as sofas, armchairs, or adult beds, particularly during or after feeding when a caregiver may be fatigued.

Fatigue is a real risk. It is normal and common for parents, especially breastfeeding mothers, to feel deeply tired. Plan your feeding environment in advance so that if you become drowsy, your baby is in or can easily be moved to a safe sleeping space.

This blanket is for adult use only. Keep this product away from your baby at all times. Do not use as infant bedding, swaddling, or in or around a baby's sleep space.

If you have questions about safe infant sleep practices, please speak with your midwife, maternal child health nurse, or GP, or visit Red Nose Australia for current guidance.
